I’ve managed to put the car in Racing mode (R), but for some reason it won’t let me turn on launch control. Any ideas?

Hold the brakes hard , make sure the road ahead is clear. Then Rev up the engine until the brakes can’t hold the car anymore.
Then release the brakes for neck snapping acceleration!!

Just floor the accelerator. There's no need to see if anything's in front of you.

Put it in Drag mode (D), but I don’t recommend shifting to Pass (P) while racing

I was fooling around in my old w124 and wondered if I could improve off the line acceleration by pre-loading the torque converter.
I’m sure the mother and daughter in the car directly behind me at the light enjoyed both the smoke show as well as the flying molten rubber that ensued.
